I Norge har vi mange talentfulle og dyktige kortmakere, og en av disse la vi merke til var så flink til pynte innsiden av kortene også. Tone Mauseth heter hun og her viser hun oss hvordan hun lager vakre innsider på kortene som matcher fremsiden.

In Norway we have many talented and great card makers, and one of them we noticed always had the most beautful decorated inside on her cards. Tone Mauseth is her name, and she is going to show us how to make the inside of the card match the decorated front.

Jeg er en livsglad dame på 43år. Er gift med Torvald. Er mor til to flotte ungdommer.
Jobber på en videregående skole med funksjonshemmede ungdom. Jeg lager kort med noen elever, og de synes det er
like moro som oss å lage fine kort. Enkelte elsker å sitte i timevis å lage kort.
Mine to ungdommer lager også kort og scrappe.
Er veldig hyggelig når vi trekker ut spisebordet og vi setter oss sammen å lager kort.
Kan ikke huske når jeg startet med denne hobbyen, og ble helt hekte på papirer og stæsj.
Tror det må være 14år siden første gang jeg ble vist div stempler av en nabo som kom fra USA.
Før jeg startet med kortlaging malte jeg på porselen, tremaling, strikking osv.
Har vel som de aller fleste vært innom mange ting får kortlagingen tok helt av.
Jeg har fått mange gode venner via forum på nette.
Noen av mine beste venninner har jeg faktisk blitt kjent med gjennom denne hobbyen.

I`m a happy lady aged 43 years old, married to Torvald. I have two children, both wonderful teenagers. I work in a high school for disabled teenagers. I make cards with some of my students, and they love this hobby as much as we do.
Some of them can spend hours making cards.
My two children are also into card making and scrap booking.
It is very nice when we all gather around the dining table to make cards.
I don`t remember exactly when I got started with this hobby, but got hooked when a neighbor came home from USA with some rubber stamps.
Before that I painted porcelain, painted on tree, knitting and so on.
Like so many other people, I`ve been into different crafting hobbies, before I was introduced to card making, and it just took off…
I have made some very good friends on Message boards for card makers. And some of my very best friends I have met through this hobby.

Tutorial:

Hvordan jeg jobber når jeg skal lage innsiden av et kort.
Jeg lager først utsiden av korte, for da har jeg lagt rammen for hvordan innsiden blir.
Jeg har funnet ut at stempler som passer i hjørnet og litt avlange er supre til innsiden.
Pass på at de ikke er for store for det skal være plass til tekst også.

How I work when making the inside of a card.
First I finish the front of the card, and I take elements from the front inside the card. Corner stamps, and rectangular stamps are perfect for the inside, just make sure they are not too big, we need to leave room for the text too.



1)

Panelet inni bruker jeg billig akvarellpapir som er kjøpt på CO,
eller skisse blogg som er kjøpt på Nille.Jeg kapper alltid arket i 13,5x13,5 cm.
Så svamper jeg rundt kanten. Jeg starter alltid litt utenfor panelet og drar svampen med lett hånd inn på panelet.

The cardstock I use inside is in-expensive aquarelle paper bought at Clas Ohlson or Nille or similar stores. I cut the cardstock to a square size 13,5 x 13,5 cm. Then I use a sponge and add ink on the edges. I always start outside the cardstock and rub the sponge lightly on to the cardstock.

Jeg limer på restepapir. Så tegner jeg streken 0,5 cm fra ytterkant.
Så lager jeg en ny strek på innsiden av rammen igjen, men da lager jeg den bare i et hjørne.
Tredje streken lager jeg i sikk sakk strek ca.0,5 cm innen for den andre streken.
Jeg bruker linjal og skjelver litt på hånden for å få den effekten jeg ønsker. Avslutter også av og til med noen prikker i enden av streken.

I use some left over pattern paper, and glue it to the card stock. Then I draw a line 0,5 cm from the edge, around the card stock. I make another line on the inside of the frame I just drew, but this time only in one of the corners. The third line is not straight but a zig-zag line about 0,5 cm from the second line. I use a ruler and a “shaken” hand, to achieve the effect I want. I end the last lines with dots.

Bruker Stazone når jeg stempler på motivet.
I use Staz on when stamping the image.

Jeg har stanset ut 2 retroblomster. Den ene svampet jeg i oransje, og den andre bruker jeg swirle på.+ at jeg har svampet med litt brunt i kantene.

I used retro flower punch to get the die cuts of the flowers. On the first flower I used orange ink and a sponge to color it. The other flower I have stamped swirls on, and distressed it a little with brown ink.

Stanser ut to stk retroblomst, og stempler en swirle over.
Ruller kanten av blomsten rundt en trepinne, for å få litt bøy på blomsten.

I use the retro flower punch again to make die cuts, and I stamp swirls over the petals.
I roll the edges of the petals around a wooden stick, to make them bend a little.

6)
Lager et panel på 14x14cm og fester panelet på 13,5x13,5 til dette.
Setter fast retroblomatene med en brads.

Make a square 14 cm x 14 cm, and glue the card stock we made earlier (13,5 cm x 13,5 cm) on to this square. Use brads to fasten the retro flowers.

Har også pyntet litt på høyre side av innsiden av kortet.
I also decorated a little at the right side of the inside.

March Technique/theme challenge

It´s time for new challenge, and this time we challenge you to make card by using 10 different stamp in your card.

And because this is challenge, all those stamps have to be front of card. Rules are very simply; use 10 different stamps, or more if you want, in front of your card. You can use one stamp several times, but we count every stamp only one time.

We also want you to make list of stamps what you have used, or if it´s easier, you can take photo of those stamps ( like SasSa and Jorunn have done). We want you to make that list/photo of stamps, because it´s not easy to find stamps from ready card.

I´ll explain, using Miia´s card. When you take a look of Miia´s card, it looks, that there are 5 different stamps and one is that big image in the middle. Big image could be only one stamp, but that big image is made by using 6 different stamp (birds, boat, stones, long grass on right, other grass area, cliff and threes).

We really hope that you get inspired and start to make your card to this challenge. We can´t wait to see your amazing cards. Hope you like this challenge as much as we did. Here are cards that our team made, hope you get inspirated and want to try this too! This really is a lot of fun!

On aika uuden haasteen, ja tällä kertaa haastamme teidät tekemään kortin käyttäen kymmentä(10) eri leimasinta. Ja koska tämä on haaste, tulisi kaikki leimasimet leimata kortin etusivulle. Säännöt ovat hyvin helpot; käytä kymmentä eri leimasinta tehdessäsi kortin etusivua, toki voit käyttää useampaakin halutessasi. Voit käyttää yhtä leimasinta useaan kertaan, mutta laskemme jokaisen leimasimen kuitenkin vain yhteen kertaan.


Haluaisimme myös, että tekisit listan tai ottaisit kuvan käyttämistäsi leimasimista, koska on yllättävän vaikeaa löytää leimasimet valmiista kortista.


Selitän käyttäen Miian korttia esimerkkinä. Kun korttia katsoo, voisi luulla, että kortissa on käytetty viittä (5) eri leimasinta ja yksi niistä olisi iso maisemakuva keskellä. Maisemakuva voisi ehkä olla yksi leimasin, mutta se on kuitenkin tehty käyttäen kuutta eri leimasinta (linnut, vene, kivet, pitkä ruohikko oikealla, pitkä ruohikko alue sekä kivikko ja puut.


Toivottavasti inspiroiduitte haasteesta ja teette omat korttinne tähän haasteeseen. Emme malta odottaa, kuinka hienoja kortteja haasteeseen teette! Toivottavasti teillä on yhtä hauskaa tehdessänne korttia haasteeseen kuin tiimillämme oli.

Scraporama and Winner announcement

Det nærmer seg vår med stormskritt og med våren kommer de mange messene rundt omkring i Skandinavia. Sverige er nettopp ferdig med en i Gøteborg og i Norge ser en helt ny messe snart dagens lys.

Det er Scraporama går av stabelen i Norge 21. og 22. mars 2009., Exporama, Hellerud.

Det er den norske stempelprodusenten Scrapmagasinet som er hoved arrangøren av messen, vi har tatt en kaffi og en prat med de to damene som har hovedansvaret, Lisbet og Camilla;

* Hvordan kom idèen med en ny messe på bordet? Det var Lisbet fra Scrapmagasinet som tok kontakt først. Messeabstinensen meldte seg når tanken på en messeløs vår var rett rundt hjørnet. Messe er en viktig begivenhet for begge sider av disken. En Pm til Camilla sendt samme kveld resulterte i et ja ;)

* Var veien lang mellom idè og virkelighet? Nei egentlig ikke. Våre messebånd var jo grunnen knytt før fødsel kjennes det ut som. Vi hadde stor tro på prosjektet og etter en særdeles kort lodding av stemningen var vi i gang. Fra fødsel til tenåring gikk vel på rund ei uke;).

* Hva skiller denne messa fra andre messer vi ser og leser om rundt om i landet?
Det vet vi jo ikke enda, vi er jo ferske i gamet.,… men vi arrangerer stortreff i tillegg til messen, vegg i vegg. Ellers mener vi jo selv at tråden i messen vår er at vi er profesjonelle. Vi vil jo at både besøkende og forhandlere skal sitte igjen med et godt inntrykk av oss.

* Hvordan er responsen fra butikker og stempelprodusenter, har de vært positive til en ny messe?
Mange gledet seg sammen med oss i utviklingsfasen og sendte mailer før det i det hele tatt var klart om det ble messe eller ikke. Vi skulle jo selvsagt ønsket at enda flere ble med på festen, men det er forskjellige årsaker til at alt ikke kan passe for alle. Og vi kan vel nesten allerede nå si at Scraporama har kommet for å bli i en eller annen form. Så en ny sjanse vil melde seg for de som ikke hadde mulighet for å delta denne gangen

* Er det nye produsenter og butikker som kommer til messen med stand?
Vi har jo på en måte ingen gammel ”liste” å forholde oss til. De aller fleste butikkene er kjent for noen i en eller annen sammenheng. Men en helt fersk stempelprodusent blant oss har vi, med sin aller første messestand hos oss. Nemmelig Shorty`n`friends

* Blir det gode messetilbud for besøkende som dere vet om nå? Eller blir prisene det samme som i nettbutikker? Som arrangør kan ikke vi bestemme at forhandlere skal ha salg. Men erfaring fra andre messer forteller oss at det kommer frem noen riktig så gode kjøp.

* kommer det til å bli holdt kurs eller tutorials på messen?
Vi har oppfordret butikkene til å holde demos og Make`n`takes ”lokalt” på sine stand. I tilegg er det satt opp kurser begge dager. Du kan lese litt mer om kursene i bloggen vår.

* Dere nevnte også at det skal være et stortreff i forbindelse med messen, fortell litt om det...

Stortreffet gleder vi oss veldig til. Det er jo som et vanlig treff men med handlegaten rett utenfor døren.
Man må løse egen billett til Stortreffet, den koster 400,-

Stortreffet holdes i eget rom med direkte adgang til messeområdet, rommet åpnes en halv time før messen slik at du rekker å komme deg i orden før det braker løs. Om du må hvile slitne ben eller skaperlysten tar overhånd finner du bare plassen din og sitter så lenge du synes det er nødvendig for å være klar for en ny runde i messeområdet. Salen er åpen under hele messens åpningstid i tilegg til nattscrapp lørdag til ca 24.00

Treffbilletten inkluderer:
• Din egen scrappeplass hele helgen
• Inngang lørdag og søndag
• Trekninger på inngangsbillettene
• Te, kaffe og vann
• Matservering lørdag

* Hvor mange besøkende regner dere med vil komme innom Exporama denne helgen?
Her kan vi jo bare gjette.
Tidligere messer har vel hatt mellom 2-3000 besøkende på to fartsfylte dager. Dette er jo selvsagt ingenting vi kan love, men vi sitter med en god følelse. Fullstendig tall vil komme etter messen.

Spring is coming on soon, and along with spring the big trade fairs are coming too. In Norway a brand new one is opening their doors for the very first time; Scraporama on March 21st og 22nd 2009., in Exporama, Hellerud.
It is the Norwegian rubber stamp manufacture Scrapmagasinet that is arranging this big event. We have met the to ladies, Lisbet and Camilla, that are the heart and soul behind this trade fair for a coffee and a nice chat;

*How did the idea of a new trade fair in Norway come about? It was Lisbet from Scrapmagasinet that first came up with the idea. The very thought of a spring without a trade fair, didn`t sit well with her, and she went into abstinence. Trade fairs are very important to both the stores and the customers, it is a 2 way street. A message was sent to Camilla, and Lisbet got her approve on that same evening.

*Was it a long road between the first idea to the trade fair actually happening? No, not really. We where tide together by previously trade fairs experience, and we both had great believes in this new trade fair right from the start. It took about a week from the idea was born, till it was a "teenager" ;)

*What makes this trade fair any different from the other trade fairs in Norway? We really don`t know that yet... we are pretty new at this...but we are hosting a big crop in the very next room off the trade fair. We also think we have a very professional attitude towards this, and we want both our visitors and the stores to get a good impression of us.

 *How is the response from the stores? Are they happy that a new trade fair? Many of them shared our happiness with Scraporama, and they started to e-mail us even before it was all settled that the trade fair was taking place. Of course we would have loved it if even more could join us, but because of different reasons not everyone could join us this weekend. We think it is safe to say, that Scraporama is here to stay, so there will be more opportunities to join us later on.

*Are there any new stores or manufactures that are coming to the trade fair? Since we are brand new, we have no "old" list of stores or manufactures. Most of the stores are known to most of our visitors one way or another. But a brand new stamp manufacture is joining us, for her very first trade fair ever, "shorty 'n' friends"

*Will there be some great bargains for the visitors as you know of, or will the price be as they are in the online stores? We have no saying in the prices the stores are charging, but every experience from other trade fairs tells us that there probably will be some good bargains to find.

*Would there be any tutorials or classes to take? We encourage the stores to have make 'n' takes, and there are classes set up. You can learn more about the classes in the Scraporama blog.

*You mentioned the big crop earlier. Tell us a little more about that. The big crop we really look forward to. It is like a regular crop, but with a shopping street right outside the door. There is a fee for attending the crop, besides the trade fair, NOK 400.- The crop is held in a room with entrance directly to the trade fair. The doors to the crop opens half an hour before the trade fair, so have time to get settled in, before you go shopping. If you later on need to rest tired legs, or you just get the urge to create, you can just go straight from the trade fair and into the crop room and find your space and stay there for as long as you wish. The crop room is open as long as the trade fair is open, and Saturday it is night crop that last until midnight.

A crop ticket includes;
* Your own scrap place throughout the entire weekend.
* Entrance both days.
* Random drawing of prizes on the crop ticket.
* Thee, coffee and water
*Food on Saturday.

Remember to bring a cutting math and some inside shoes if you like to walk around during a crop.

*How many visitors do you think will stop by Exporama this weekend?
We can only guess, but other trade fairs have had 2-3 000 visitors on two days with high speed. We can not promise the exact same numbers, but we have a good gut feeling. Exact numbers will be published on our blog after the crop.

Go Urban... with Niklas Mårdby...

Vi i StampARTic är idag glada över att kunna presentera en artikel skriven av vår gästskrivare Niklas Mårdby från Tingtura Design. En artikel om en av de nya trenderna inom scrapbooking och kortlagning.

Inom scrapbooking och kortskapande finns det mängder av stilar. Vissa är mer kända och har fått namn. Detta är en artikel om en stil som kom till scrapvärlden förra året och som kallas Urban.

Within scrapbooking and cardmaking there are numeruos of different styles. Some are more famous and have got names. This is a aricle about a style that arrived in the scrapbookingworld last year and it´s called Urban.

Precis som många andra stilar så är Urban lånad ifrån andra delar av designvärlden. I början på 2008 började webdesigners och andra inom grafisk design inspireras av 60- och 70-tal och skapade en ny modern stil med cirklar, swirls, moln, flygande stjärnor, hjärtan, solstrålar, texturer och färgsplatter. Ser man sig omkring ser man Urban överallt.

Like many other styles Urban is borrowed from other parts of the designworld. In the begining of 2008 webdesigners and others within graphic design started get inspired by the 60´s and the 70´s and they created a new modern style with circles, swirls, clowds, flying stars, hearts, sunbeams, textures and colour splatter. If you look around you can see Urban everywhere.


I början på 2008 fanns det inte så många scrapbookingprodukter med Urban, men stilen syntes på reklampelare, filmaffischer, reklamblad och även inom inredning. Jättekul och inspirerande! Under sommaren 2008 kom Urban till Sverige och användes av bland andra ICA, Elon och Telia. Hur såg det ut i ditt land? Mejla gärna och berätta för mig (niklas@tingtura.se) ! Reklambranchen var helt klart på trenden och jag hoppades att scrapvärlden också skulle hänga på.

In the begining of 2008 there wasn´t many scrapbooking products with Urban, but the styles where shown on advertisement pillars, movie posters, advertisements leaflets and also within interior design. During the summer of 2008 Urban came to Sweden and where used by for example ICA, Elon and Telia.

How did it look in your country? You are welcomed to e-mail and tell me(niklas@tingtura.se)! The advertising business was right on the new trend and I hoped that the scrapbookingworld also would tag along.


På Tingtura Design tillverkar vi stämplar och planen var att fånga stilen i form av stämplar så att scrappare och kortskapare kunde få verktygen för att utforska denna nya stil. Vi kallade de nya stämplarna Urban, precis som stilen.

Efter sommaren kom höstens Nordiska Scrap- och Stämpelmässan 2008 och Urban-stämplarna skulle äntligen lanseras. En lustig liten grej jag måste dela med mig av var en tjej som tittade förbi montern och som tillät oss fota henne. :) Hon hade en kjol med Urban-cirklar på! Ännu ett bevis på trendens hårda grepp om designers av olika slag.

Tingtura Design makes rubberstamps and the plan was to capture the style in the form of stamps so that scrapbookers and cardmakers would have access to the tools to explore this new style. We called the new rubberstamps Urban, just like the style.

After the summer came fall with the Nordic Scrapbooking- and Stamp trade fair 2008 in Göteborg and it was finally time to launch the Urban-stamps.
One funny thing I have to share was this girl who poped by our booth/display area and allowed us to photograf her. She had a skirt with Urban cicles on!! Yet a proof on the trends hard grip on design of different kind.


Vi hade väldigt kul på mässan och alla andra event vi åkte på med våra nya stämplar. Scrappare och kortskapare är underbara människor och allt slit belönas när man ser i ansiktena hur det klickar till och idéer föds. Nu är 2008 över men Urban lever vidare. Tittar man på produkterna som släpptes på CHA nu i början på 2009 ser man en hel del Urban både på papper och stämplar. Ingen mindre än Tim Holtz har hakat på trenden vilket vi tycker är kul.

Bland webbdesigners och grafiker börjar man tröttna på stilen, men det känns som att scrapvärlden bara har börjat upptäcka Urban. Detta är en stil att blanda med andra, att utforska och utveckla. Urban har ofta rena linjer och glada färger, men måste inte vara sådan. Här är ett kort jag gjorde i november 2008 som definitivt är Urban men samtidigt har en hel del Grunge.

We had very fun at the trade fair and all following events we went to with our new rubberstamps. Scrapbookers and cardmakers are wonderful people and all work are payed when you see the faces on them when it clickes and ideas are born. Now 2008 are over but Urban continue to live among us. If you look at the products that where released at CHA recently you could see both papers and stamps with Urban motifs. Even Tim Holtz has picked up this trend which we think is fun.

Webdesigners and graphic artists they start to become tired with the style, but it feels like Urban has only begun in the scrapbooking world. This is a style that is mixable with others, and to explore and develop. Urban often have clean lines but it doesn´t have to be. This is a card I made in november 2008 and that is definitly Urban but at the same time it has a fair amount of Grunge too.
Urban har i designvärlden tagit influenser från många håll och det kan du med. Krydda så det smakar dig. Se till att inspireras och provar ny kreativ mark. Googla bara på "urban grunge", "urban circle" eller "urban swirls" så kommer du hitta massor med inspirerande material och se det vi kallar Urban. Men vi varnar dig... Urban kommer spränga dina ramar - det är beroendeframkallande och vansinnigt roligt!

Urban has in the designworld taken influences from many different directions and so could you. Spice it like you want. See to that you get inspired and try new creative grounds. Google the words "urban grunge", "urban circle" or "urban swirls" and you will find tonn´s of inspirering material and see what we call Urban. But we warn you... Urban will blow your mind- it is addictive and madly funny!

Tingtura Design tillverkar egendesignade omonterade stämplar för scrapbooking och kortskapande. Våra stämpelserier heter Majas Vänner, Majaroni, Filiona, Urban och Tingtura.
Varje stämpelserie har sitt egna unika utseende och tilltallar på olika vis.

Under 2008 fick Kicki förstärkning i företaget av sin make Niklas och företaget fick en nystart och nytt namn: Tingtura Design.
Målet är att fortsätta skapa unika nytänkande stämplar som inspirerar och utvecklar.

Idag växer Tingtura Design snabbt med försäljning till hela världen och ett ständigt ökande antal återförsäljare. TingturaKlubben uppskattas av hundratals nöjda kunder som genom klubben får nyheter och exklusiva erbjudanden.

Tingtura design produce and design their own unmonted rubberstamps for scrapbooking and cardmakning. Our differrent lines of stamps are called Majas vänner, Majaroni, Filiona, Urban och Tingtura. Each line has it´s own unique look and pleases in different ways.

The company was started in 2004 by Kristina Mårdby and was in the begining a webshop with everything for the scrapbooker. But then Kicki soon found cardmaking and stamps. Bildmålarans vakre Mimosa stempler

StampARTic har vært så heldige å få jobbe med Bildmålarnas nye vakre Mimosa stemplene.
Disse søte motivene er så enkle og anvendelige å arbeide med og fargelegge.
Bildmålarna har mange forskjellige stempler, og Mimosa er bare en av mange vakre serier med motiver de produserer, i tillegg fører de også vakre tekster til envher anledning.

Bildmålarna sender til hele verden og du kan betale med paypal. De har ikke fysisk butikk, men web shop, og den finnes både på engelsk og svensk.

Her er det de skriver i sin presentasjon om seg selv på web shopen;

Den søte Mimosa med tulipan vart sendt til Danmark og til Lenes hobbyrom, og der vart hun tatt godt vare på.
