Cool Christmas Gifts Ideas For 9 Year Old Boys

I'm sure you are well aware that the Christmas gift shopping has to get done pretty soon but maybe you are stuck for traditional ideas. If you have to find a gift for a 9 year old boy then this record might be able to point you in the right direction. It will gift three cool Christmas gift ideas for 9 year old boys or boys around that age.

The first gift idea is an old favorite. It's Lego. But not just the easy block sets that honestly encourage creativity but may also be a bit dull for kids of around 9 years of age. The item presented here is the City group vehicle set.

Shopping

This is far more advanced from the plain old blocks, as it is a set with a theme. And that theme, of course, is a group vehicle system. In the set you get a train or tram principles with station. You also get a filling hub for road vehicles and a bus. There are a few other cars, like a road sweeping vehicle, a flash yellow sports car and, believe it or not, a bicycle. There are also a few Lego characters to drive and ride on these vehicle systems.

Kids will love to play with the set on its own or they can consolidate it into their existing Lego sets. It is a fairly new issue as it only came out in August this year so it's bound to be a toy to get any kids that are mad on Lego and want to add to their collection.

Another toy that is sure to motion to boys is the At At Walker model. The At At walker (All Terrain Armored Transport) is part of the Star Wars movies. Most kids today may be up on the Clone Wars and the most recent characters from this time in the Star Wars legend but this is a way to get them into the older movies.

The At At is from the second Star Wars movie (chronologically speaking) and is such a extraordinary finding machine that most fans of the movies would love to have such a toy. The toy is a well detailed model of the real machines.

You can open the cockpit to see all the dashboard decal and there is space for character, like the driver and commander to steer the walker. You can also open the body to store stormtroopers and gear for the impending battle. As part of the toy, you also get an imperial bike speeder which can be stored in the body.

The final toy that is sure to suit a 9 year old boy (or girl for that matter) is the Razor E200 scooter. This is an motor driven deck style scooter. It looks a bit like a skateboard with a steering column. You can even get a similarly designed scooter without the motor which requires leg power to move it, but most kids already have something like this. They'd honestly love one with a motor on it.

Minna`s day of fun

Hello everyone, today it`s my turn to show you something:) I really love Christmas time, actually I think we all love, so I have done some beautiful paper stars and decorated gift bags.

All the papers I have used are from Vivi Gade Designs. They are a little bit thinner than the other design papers so they are suitable for these kind of crafting:)



Here you can see the stars.


And decorated gift bags:) As you can see, so simple and easy to make. Hearts are cut from design paper and for the other bag I used Tim Holtz die.

Aija's day of fun

Joulun aikaan on tarvetta monille pienille viemisille ja antamisille. Ajattelin tehdä muutaman pienen lahjakassin. Leimailin kuvioita puuvillakankaalle joista tein pari pientä pussukkaa. Tein myös muutaman huopakassin.
At Christmas time there is need for many small gifts and I made some little bags. I stamped on cotton fabric and used some filt for the bags.

Leikkasin pari suorakaiteen ja sydämen muotoista palaa puuvillakankaasta.
I cutted two piece of cotton fabric and also two heart shape.


Käytin Versafinen Sepia mustetta leimaamiseen.
I used Versafine Sepia ink to stamp the images.

To colour the images I used some Versacraft inks. I used a hard paintbrush.
Värityksen tein Versacraftin väreillä ja käytin kovaa pensseliä.


Taustalle leimasin muutamia lumihiutaleita.
I stamped some snoflakes to the background.

Ompelin reunat ompelukoneella pussin muotoon. Toisen pussin yläreunan käänsin ja toisen yläreunasta revin lankoja pois.
I sewed the pieces to the bag shape. The other one I sewed from the top and the other I torn some yarns away.

Pussien sisään sujautin muutamia suklaakarkkeja.
I added some small Christmas candies inside.


"Joulu ovella kolkutteli ja ulkona ritisi pakkaskeli,
kun hankea kosketti enkelin siipi ja enkeli portista pihaan hiipi.
Pieni enkeli tahtoi katsella vaan, kun joulua laittoivat ihmiset maan:
koristeita, lamppuja pensaissa pihan, ne taivaan tähtiä muistutti ihan.
Vielä enkeli sisäänkin kurkistaa taisi, että joulusta tarkemmin selvää saisi.
Ja sielläpä uunissa piparit paistui.
Ne varmasti suussakin hyvältä maistui...
niin enkeli tuumi. Ja äiti kun veti piparit uunista, huomasi heti,
että puuttui pelliltä sydän ja tähti
-ne enkelin taskussa taivaaseen lähti!"
Oikein tunnelmallista joulun aikaa kaikille!

Donna's Day of Fun

I dag er det blevet min tur til at have en dag med sjov,
og jeg vil vise jer hvordan vi tæller dagene i december.

Jeg har lavet et kalendertræ, hvor vi hver dag kan skifte datoen ud, og følge med i hvor langt vi er kommet i december, og i dag er det den 9. december


Today its my turn to have a day with lots of fun,
and i want to show you how we count the days in december.

I made a calender tree, where we can change the date, and keep track on how far we are in december, and today it is the 9. December



Først et billede af hele træet, og så et par stykker tæt på.
På alle træskiltene er der tal på begge sider, tallene 1 og 2 går igen to gange, så alle datoerne kan laves.

First a picture of the whole tree, and then a few close up.
All wooden signs have numbers on both sides, the numbers 1 and 2 recurs twice so that all dates can be made.





Jeg håber at i er blevet inspireret, selvom det er lidt sent at gå i gang med et kalendertræ til i år, men det kunne måske være et hyggeligt projekt at lave i december, og så er det jo klar til næste år.

Jeg ønsker jer alle en Glædelig jul

I hope you have been inspired, even though it's a little late to start making a calender tree for this year, but it might be a nice projekt to do in December, and then its ready for next year.

Rikke's "Day of fun"

En julekagedåse til julesmåkager, bliver til.

Idag er det min (Rikke's) dag, til at vise jer hvad jeg har lavet.
Jeg havde denne dåse stående, hvor der har været is i. Jeg tænkte, at med lidt ændringer, så kunne jeg få en julekage-dåse til mine jule-småkager.

Så jeg har malet den med Gesso, og derefter har jeg pyntet den.

A Christmas cake tin for the Christmas crackers, are made.

Today is my (Rikke's) day, to show you what I've done.
I had this box below, where there has been ice in. I thought that with some changes so I could get a Christmas cake tins for my Christmas cookies.

So I painted it with Gesso and then I decorated it.

Både forfra, bagfra, rundt om og oppe fra.

Så nu skal jeg igang med at bage julesmåkager, så jeg kan få julekagedåsen fyldt.

December 2 -SasSa´s day of fun.

Det är dags för min dag av skoj.
Och jag vill visa en ask jag knåpat ihop.
Hoppas ni gillar den.

It´s time for my day of fun.
And I want to show a box that I made.
Hope you'll like it.


 Verktyg du behöver:
Skärmaskin eller linjal och skalpell
bigarblad
linjal
penna
Något att göra hål med. Typ håltång (3mm använde jag).
Du behöver också papper 
en bit snöre ca 50 cm
och en liten tag.

Starta med ett 12" x 12 " ark papper.
Inte för tunt papper. 
Cardstock eller lite tjockare mönster papper funkar fint.
Skär ner det så det är 30cm x 30cm.


Tools you will need:
Papercutter or ruler and scalpel
Bonefolder
Ruler
Pen
Something to make holes with. For ex a punch (I used a 3mm)
You also need paper
a piece of twine about 50 cm
and a small tag.

Start with a 12"x 12" sheet of paper.
Not too thin paper. 
Cardstock or a little thicker patterned paper works fine.
Cut it down to 30cm x 30cm.


Sen tar vi bort skärbladet och använder en bonefolder.
Rätt (fina) sida upp.
Bigar vid 10 cm på alla 4 sidor.
Så att du har 9 lika stora rutor.

Take away the cutting blade and use the bonefolder.
Right side up.
Make a score at 10 cm all the way around.
So you got 9 equally sized squares.


9 rutor...à 10 x 10 cm.

9 squares..at 10 x 10 cm.


Finn mitten av varje sida och gör ett märke med en penna.
Jag gjorde det lätt för mig så jag mätte bara på mittersta rutan. Då blev det vid 5 cm.

Find the middle of the edge and make a small mark with a pen
I made it easy for me so I only measured the middle square. I found the middle at 5 cm then.


Dags för skärbladet igen. Lägg papperet på diagonalen i skämaskinen och
skär från märke till märke. Vrid och skär igen, upprepa på alla fyra sidor.

Time for the cutting blade again. Put the paper diagonally in the papercutter.
Cut from mark to next  mark all around the paper.


När alla fyra hörn är borta ser papperet ut så här.
Sen tar du bort skärbladet och bigar som de svarta linjerna på bilden nedan.
Och självklart på alla fyra hörnen.

When all four corners are gone it looks like this.
 Then take away the cutting blade and make a score
Like the black lines. But on all four corners.  


 Så här..

Halvvägs...

Halfway...


När alla fyra hörnen är färdiga fattas det bara fyra veck till.
Biga från mitten till hörnet av den inre kvadraten.
Som den svarta linjen. Gör likadant runt om.

When all four corners are done it just four score lines left.
Score from the middle of the edge to the corner of the inner quadrant.
Like the black line at the picture below. Do so on all four sides.


Då borde papperet se ut så här.

Then the paper should look like this.


Vänd på papperet och börja förstärka vecken på trianglarna med bigarbladet.
Så du får skarpa veck.

 Turn the paper wrong side up. 
And start to enhance the creases on the triangles with the bonefolder.
So you get crisp folds.





När det är färdigt runt om ser det ut så här.

When it´s done all the way around it should look like this.


Förstärk också de långa vecken
med bigarbladet så du får skarpa veck.

Also enhance the long creases with a 
bonefolder so you get crisp folds.


Nu börjar vi vika ihop asken.
Vik upp ett hörn i taget.

Now we start to fold the box.
Fold up one corner at a time.


Låt spetsarna mötas.

Let the points meet.


En pyramid ask....

Nu ska vi bara dekorera lite också.
Ta ett passande mönster papper. 
 Av mönsterpappret gör jag en remsa som är 8,5cm bred o 22cm lång.

Now some decoration too.
Take a patterned paper.
Of the paper I make a strip that are 8,5cm wide and 22cm long.



Mäter 4,25cm in från kanten(hälften av 8,5cm)
vilket ska bli storleken på de mönstrade bitarna.
Skär från det märket till det nedre hörnet.
Denna biten skär vi bort för att få rätt vinkel på trianglen.

I measure  4,25cm in from the edge(half of 8,5cm) 
which are the size of the patterned pieces.
And cut from that mark to the lower corner.
This piece we cut of to get the right angle on the triangle.


Vänd på papperet och gör ett märke 8,5cm in, 
skär från föregående märke till det nya. 
Så har du en triangel som passar vår ask.
Fortsätt att vända på papperet och göra markeringar
vid 8,5cm och skära tills du har 4 trianglar.
Detta funkar bara om mönstret funkar åt alla håll.

Turn the paper and make a mark at 8,5cm from the edge,
cut from old mark to new mark.
And you got a triangle that fits our box.
Keep turning and making marks at 8,5cm and 
cut from old to new mark until you got 4 triangles.
This only works if the pattern works upside down too.

Vill ju göra min extra fin, så jag gör ett lager papper till. 
Denna gång är det lättare.
Gör nästa lager bara lite, lite större

I want it to be extra nice so I make one more layer..
This time it´s easier. 
Just make the second paper slightly bigger than the first.



Gör hål för snöret.
Alla 4 sidor.

Make holes for the twine.
On all 4 sides.




Trä i snöret.
Om man vill ha i snöret även när boxen är öppen ska man låta snöret vara längre.
Vill man inte ha det är det bara att korta ner det.

Tread the twine trough the holes.
If you want the twine to sit in while the box are open too, you leave it a bit longer.
If you don't, just shorten it.





Färdig Pyramidask med en liten tag.
Passar nog lika bra att hänga i granen
eller bara som en liten gåva, självklart med något litet inuti.

Finished Pyramid box with a little tag.
Probably as suiting to hang in the 
Christmas tree as it is to just give away.
And of course with a little something inside.

Den röd vita är lite mindre.
Började med ett papper som var 21cm x 21cm då. 
Då blev rutorna 7cm x 7cm
Sen är det bara att följa stegen som ovan.

Then I began with a paper that was 21cm x 21cm.
the squares are then 7cm x 7cm.
And you can follow the steps above.
