Some time ago I sat and looked at my foamstamps and felt sorry they only lay in boxes and never get used. So I started to think what I could do to use them more. While I was sitting there thinking I looked at the spraybottle of water on the table in front of me and then this idea was born. It worked splendid. Here comes a tutorial on what I did. Have already made a simular tutorial a couple of weeks ago and if you want to see you find it here. Sadly only in swedish though.

Have already made a simular tutorial a couple of weeks ago and if you want to see you find it here. Sadly only in swedish though.

I start this tutorial with a already coloured motif to know what colours to use.
I use Distress Ink because they are water-soluble and for this motif Dusty Concord and Peeled Paint suited best.
The paper is photoalbum paper. But I guess you can use any paper with smooth surface and not to thin, maybe at least 180- 200gr/m2.
It´s good to use a Nonstick craftsheet or a teflon bakingpaper to protect you work surface. And it also make it easier to use the blending tool.

Inka in blending tool på distressdynan.
I use a tool from Ranger called Blending tool with blending foam on. But I think you can use make-up sponges too.
Ink up the blendig tool on the inkpad. Then place the blending tool outside the paper like this.
Then small circular movements towards/on the paper and and finaly to the center of the paper.

Here I have used the Peeled Paint around the paper which are 13x13 cm (5x5 inch). Always start on the edge och work the tool towards the middle. If not there can be some strong lines of colour and not the soft like the picture.

After I used Dusty Concord it looks like this. And I think I´m done with the distress.

Stämplarna är från Creative Imagniations- Cursive lowercase.
Then comes the fun part. To use the foam stamps. I started with the letter K who is the final letter in TACK (thanks in swedish). Spray the foamstap with water. Not to much though.
The stamps are from Creative Imaginations-Cursive lowercase.

Fortsätt med resten av bokstäverna...
Then place it were I what the stamp to go. And push it down on the paper. Press for a short while and the lift off. Then you see the magic with the water and distressInk.
Continue with the rest of the letters....

Done with the word and then I used a swirl from MakingMemories Floral/dingbat.

Spray it with water and stamp the background. Wipe after every stamp and spray new water.

Here I´m almost done....

To make the stamps appear more I use a Copic marker C-3 and make some shadows.
But I think any grey pencil, or whatever colour you like, is ok.

A dash of Glimmermist all over the background and it looks like this.
If i gets too wet I press some soft paper to wipe it of. The heatgun speed up the drying time.
If you want it extra glimmry you can use the glimmermist on the stamps instead of the water.

I also wanted a panel to the card so I made a smaller piece. 14x4 cm (about 5,5x 1,5 inch)

Inked it with Dusty Concord and then stamped a swirl with water.

Here is the final card made with my new backgrounds.
The leafs, don´t they look real....? I made them myself and that I want to show that too.

They where an accidend from the beginning. Because I wanted green skeleton leafs but I only had brown and creme so I thought of using distress on them. Just pad the blending tool on the leafs gently.

The results where great but I liked the paper beneath even more.

So I did the same thing on some green cardstock.

Then cut it out and use a bonefolder and a foam mat to make the leaf look more real.

Finnished leaf.

Some of the leafs got a little big so I cut some smaller out of the larger ones. Will do this many more time cause I like the leafs very much.

TIP! Also want to show you my distesspads. I not only have the names on the pads....
You easily find the right colour like this.
Word window punch and some doublestick tape. Some of them are inked and some I found the perfect colour paper for.

Kram SasSa
Hope you like the tips and start using those forgotten foamstamps;).
