Hello you!! Jorunn and me (Camilla) want to show you how to colour with Tombow markers. We are both most used to colour with Distresses, so you could say this was a challenge for us. But in fact coloring with Tombow markers is not so different from Distress colouring. Something you soon will see;)

I will now show you how to colour Henry the mouse from Whiff of Joy. It is stamped on water-colour paper 300g, with Archival Ink, Jet Black. I have used the four Tombow markers you can see in the header. I started with coloring his body. And the brown #969 is just perfect for this. I started by adding colour to the sides I wanted to be darkest. Take a look at the photo:

As you can see I did not need much colour. I then used my brush, size 01. Added some water and drag the colour into the image. It went quite easy. And the shadow made itself!

Now I worked further on with the mouse's body. Found the spots where it would naturally be darkest, and draw a brown line with my Tombow.

I used the moisture brush again. Then I worked further on the mouse.
And it looks like this.
Now I wanted some redish colour in his ears and on his tummy. I used the red #856. You nearly can see it on the photo:
I used the brush again, and drag the colour out.
I thought it went too redish, so I added some more brown, to tone it down.
When this was draged out, I started colouring the cup cake. I wanted it to be a bit purple, so I started with the blue #528.
Used the moisture brush again, and drag out the colour.
It should be a strawberry cup cake, so I want the cream to be pinkish. Here I used the red #856 again.
Used the brush again, and it looks nice. But I still want the paper on the cup cake to be a bit purple.
So under the cream I added more red #856, and drag it down with the brush. I also coloured in the candlelight with the blue, and the red and yellow #025 for the flame. On it all I drag the colour out using the brush. And here is the finished result:
And here you can see the happy partymouse on the card! Ready to be given away to a birthday-boy;)
Jorunn har brukt fargene brun #969, hud #990, Grønn #249 og rød # 856 til Shy bear
Jorunn used the colors Brown #969, skin #990, Green #249 and Red #856 on Shy Bear
På dette kortet har Jorunn brukt fargene;
Grønn # 249, Gul # 025, Hud # 990, Brun # 969, Rød # 856 and Blått på vingene #528.
In this card Jorunn used the colors;
Green # 249, Yellow # 025, Skin # 990, Brown # 969, Red # 856 and Blue on the wings #528.
As you saw the colouring is easy, and you can combine more colours to make different blendings. And since the colour is in the marker, you will not get smutty working with them. There are many ways to colour with Tombow markers, you don't have to use a brush either.

...and Jorunn has of course made some cards to with the Tombows too (our colouring were so simular that we decided to only show one tutorial):
