Day 4 of StampARTic´s birthdayparty!! (part 1)

Posted by Princess Eva Angelica On 2:26 PM 0 comments

Hello everyone, Petra here!!
Now it´s my turn to celebrate StampARTic´s birthday!!

And I was thinking of doing three contributions this day
and I will spread them out over the hole day.

Every scrapper loves tutorials, so what can be better then
some new fresh tutorials?! =)

In this part, Part 1, I will show you a very simple Card folding.
It´s not a new one and many has already seen it, but I will show it anyway =)

....

1. Take a card stock (30 x 30cm) and cut it out so you get a paper with the size 30 x 15 cm.

2. Then you measure the paper as I have done in this picture above.
After you have measure, you fold the paper in all the lines.

(Fold so you get three “towers” in different heights)

3. Now you can choose some pattern papers
to decorate with.

4. Jag skar ut en cardstock i storleken;

4. I have cut out a cardstock to size; 15 x 15 cm.
And put it there the arrow is.
(Sorry, but I have no picture at that
cardstock
)

5. Now you can start decorate your card as you want to!! =)

Här är mitt resultat;

Here is my result;

...

And here is a picture from behind.
Here you can write a personal message to the receiver

Det personliga meddelandet placerar du här (pilen)

The personal message do you put here (arrow)

Day 3 Happy Birthday StampARTic with Aija

Posted by Princess Eva Angelica On 10:04 AM 0 comments
It has been an amazing year with StampARTic, and it is my time to thank you all. I did not realize what it would be when Jorunn asked if I wanted to join to this magazine. I have had bunch of lovely crafting friends and have had the opportunity to get to know different kinds of crafting stores. Sometimes it has been very challenging to make things from materials, which are out of my own comfort zone, but that makes it also very interesting. It is a way I can find new ideas and maybe change my toughts also.
It is allways great to see what we can put up together, especially when we have exactly the same dt packages each of us. We have very warm and encouraging team here and I hope you can feel it from our work. I look forward to the new year and new inspirational challenges.

On minun vuoroni kiittää teitä kaikkia lukijoitamme.

Sassa showed some truly packages yesterday and I continue with the same theme.

Sassa näytti eilen todella upeita pakkausideoita ja minä jatkan tänään samalla teemalla.

Christmas is coming and it is time for packages. It is the thing I like to do. I put some nice music and couple of candles. I take all the wrapping materials on the table and pack all the gifts at the same time. I thought to remind you of this very simple origami folded little boxes. These are very simple and fast to prepare. You can do these while watching tv. I like these because you can use 6 x 6 and 12 x 12 papers without too many measurements and cuttings.

First you mark the center and then fold each corner to the center.

Ensin merkitään keskikohta ja jokainen kulma taitetaan keskelle.

Then you fold the other half of the square to the center and then other. Open these foldings and do the same with other sides.

Now you open the foldings and it looks like this. Here you can see the cuts you need to make.

And now you can put the box “up”. You can add a little drop of glue or two-sided tape to keep box in shape. When you make the foldings straight and “heard” boxes stays on their shape very well.

Nyt voi laatikon laittaa kasaan.

I have added a heart sticker inside. You could also write a little note to the bottom or to the lid. Boxes will fit better together when you cut a little bit from the sides of the bottom box to have it a little smaller than the top.

There is endles ways to decorate these small boxes. If you use colourfull papers there is no need for extra decorations. Here is couple of excamples what I did. I used a big flower and adhered some buttons on the center. I made a gift tag with stamped image. Then I used a little star made from clay and added some lace and organza ribbon to go with it.

I wish you all a great “getting ready before” Christmas time!

Mukavan tunnelmallista joulunodotus aikaa kaikille!

First some words from Jorunn:

Most of all, we are so happy with that you all seem to like our magazine, and that touches our hearts!
Thank you so much for the wonderful feedback we have gotten from you all, it brought tears to our eyes, and made all the work the past year even more worthwhile...

I have used the random.org to draw a winner of the blog candy...

Og vinneren er ~
and the winner is.....

HILDEGUNN

Thank you so much all of you!

And now SasSa will continue with the Birthday Party!!! Have fun! "

*****

♥♥♥

And I (SasSa) want to begin with saying THANKS to all of you!
We had not gotten this fare if we didn't have you readers and sponsors.
It has been a year full of fun articles, tutorials and challenges etc.
Sometime it has been very stressful with many things
at one time but also so very much fun.
It warmed my heart to read all those
comments from last night.
That is why we or at least I are doing this...
For all of you.
♥♥♥

Jag gillar ju stämplar.
Kanske många redan vet...;)
Jag har ju också en del. *ler*

******

I do love stamps.
Maybe you already know...;)
And I got a lot of them. *lol*
I always think of new ways to use them.
So to celebrate our first year I want to share how
I get more use of my stamps.
As it´s Christmas soon this is going to be about
Christmas present wrapping.

And you do not need very much to make beautiful presents.
The first package I made was with plain white
wrapping paper that I have stamped on.

******

Here I have begun stamping a big snowflake from Inkido.
Then I added stamps until I was pleased with how it looked.

*****

And this is how it turned out...
I also added one smaller snowflake in another color
and a circle sentiment also they from Inkido.
Made my own tag using Spellbinders classic tags, an eyelet and some stamps.
Don't open till Christmas! and No peeking!
I thought was rather suiting for this present.
They are from Purple onion design.

One very homemade package.

*******

Here together with one in gold.
Started with plain gold paper not to shiny or the stamps will not stick
(if you do not use Staz-on then even plastic are OK)
On the gold one I used a tree and a note stamp from Magnolia,
snowflake and circle sentiment from Inkido.
The tag is made with a large cirkle punch,
a spellbinder flourish impressabilities
and a sentiment from Inkido.

*****

Showing the backside of the tags.
Both are made with Inkido stamps.
For the round tag I used only parts of the same stamp I used for the other tag.
To and from. And then another Merry Christmas stamp.

******

If you find very beautiful wrapping paper like I did at a local Panduro
retailer, you still can use stamps to decorate.
They have gotten beltbands with stamps instead.
On the red package I used Inkido stamps and on the other Magnolia stamps.
The vintage looking one have also gotten a flower sprayed with glimmermist
and some organza ribbon decorated with stars.

******

Close ups on the decorations
The flower was too white at first but easily corrected with some glimmer mist.
The stars are punched with Fiskars Squeeze star punch.
Embossed with Spellbinder Flourish Impressabilities.

*****

Why not use stuff you got at home or in your grosery shop
to decorate you christmas presents..
?
Like:

*Newspaper
* Dried fruit (like orange and apple slices dried in oven at a very low temperature)
*Whole Cinnamon
*Candy canes
*Fabric
*Make small pretty boxes yourself for those smaller gifts.
(Just search the internet after box templates and you get a lot of nice
stuff to try out)

Well it´s only the imagination that limits you:).
Do try!

OK so I too want to give something away...
This little handmade package with 2 small stamp sets inside.
Just leave a little note so say that you are interested and you are in.
You have until tomorrow 3 dec, 18.00 to comment.
And the winner will be posted in this post tomorrow at about 20.00.

Bild på paketet jag ger bort -Picture of the giveaway
Edit 3 december :

Oj så många som ville vara med!! Så skoj!!
Tack så mycket för alla gulliga kommentarer!!!

Nu har jag dragit en vinnare.
Med hjälp av Random.org

Wow, so many that wanted a little package from me.
Thanks so much for all the lovely comments!

Now we have a winner.
With a little help from Random.org

och vinnare blev...
and the winner are....

Anticipating a busy Wednesday with my favorite bloviator, Mr. Bigwand, I hearby offer two posts below: one a video that I must say makes me curious about exactly what holiday carols might be up for singalong, the other a shameful admittance of poor parenting. Have a great Wednesday, my lieblings!

Terrible Teen Runs Amok

Posted by Princess Eva Angelica On 6:58 PM 0 comments
Welcome to "The Gods Are Bored," prompt home delivery of select deities, fresh and willing to accept your praise and worship! Just call us UPS -- Upscale Pantheon Service!

You know it's bound to happen. You leave your teenager home alone, she's going to get in trouble.

I'm talking about my younger daughter, The Spare. (I have two female children, The Heir and The Spare. Heir is in college right now. More on her in a moment.)

Yesterday I staggered in from another long bout of night school to find that my teenager had committed a despicable act. Oh, all bored gods please forgive her!

I think I've mentioned that we took in two foster kittens from the shelter. To nurture and tame them up so that Santa would have them to dole out on Yule. Well ...

... exceedingly difficult to confess this ...

The Spare gave one of the kittens a makeover.

Yes, I know. I know! We Pagans suffer egregiously under the burden of stereotype, much of it based on ritual killings of kittens. How could The Spare not remember that as she gently swiped blush across the cheeks of Reba the Kitten?

I noticed immediately that Reba the Kitten had a subtle rosy glow that was decidedly un-kitten-like. When confronted with the evidence, Spare admitted that Reba had been climbing her as she did her own makeup, so she impulsively gave Reba a peppy new look.

For shame! A kitten wearing blush! I'm devastated that my child, who I have raised to the best of my ability, would actually apply cosmetics to a feline's cheeks!

Fear not, readers. Spare will be punished severely. She will be dragged to Baltimore, to the baby shower of her father's first cousin -- a girl who knows to wait until after she's had the baby to get married, so she'll look better in her wedding gown. Now there's a set of values any parent would appreciate!

I can't bring myself to confiscate Spare's makeup. She would rather have her pressed powder than the keys to the T-bird. And truth be told, Reba the Kitten seems no worse for wear. Not that I want to condone immoral behavior, but ... oh, don't say you heard it here! ... A kitten looks really cute with a little blush, properly applied.

No, Anne! Bad! Bad! No makeup on kittens! Bad! Bad Spare! Off to bed without watching Countdown with Keith!

That'll teach her.

Update on Heir: My daughter The Heir is ill, but she does not like for me to talk about her here at TGAB. Your well wishes and positive energy will be most appreciated. Her doctors feel that if she takes it easy between semesters, rests and pampers herself, she will feel better in time for the spring term. She has a chronic condition, so she has no choice but to learn how to live with it. The good news is that she's joined a band in Philly. She plays the musical saw. Now she wants to expand her repertoire by learning the ukulele.

It's too late to put these challenging offspring up for adoption. I'll just have to muddle through somehow.

Happy Birthday StampARTic!!!!

"Ask the Stamper"

Wow...1 year has gone by, and it is 1 year since we opened our doors to our online magazine for card makers!  And what a year we have had!!!
The response from our readers and sponsors has overwhelmed us!
220 000 hits in 1 year, it is nothing less then fantastic!
It is a lot of work behind every posting, especially when the posting contains projects from the design team,
but above it all; it is so much fun!

I have enjoyed every single day on StampARTics team, a wonderful group of girls, that are always there for you, in both good days and not so good days.
And the security this gives us, is something we have all grown upon, both as a team but also as individual card makers.

So what happens next with StampARTic??
Well, based on the success we are not closing the doors...
We are expanding with 2 new post a month...

The first regular posting each month will be
"  Ask the Stamper"

A post where you can send us your question about anything concerning the card making hobby,
and we will try to answer it as good as we can, and if we do not know the answer we will find it for you.

The second post is
"  Readers Gallery"
We want you to send us your projects and cards made with inspiration from Stampartic,
it can be from a tutorial or any other article, and we will publish it here in the Readers Gallery.

We would love to see them and to share them with other readers.
send us and e-mail with link to your project(s) and card(s) and tell us which article inspired you.

Do you have any questions or projects you want to show us
send us an e-mail at stampartic@gmail.com
